What is the purpose of Sean Cole’s Substack?
We live in an evangelical church culture of watered-down theology. Many believers are seeking to hear God’s unadulterated truth directly from the inspired Scriptures. The purpose of these articles is to provide doctrinally sound, devotionally rich, and spiritually practical instruction.
Sean is a Reformed Baptist who subscribes to the 1689 Second London Baptist Confession (https://founders.org/library-book/1689-confession) and provides teachings from this perspective.
Who is Sean Cole?
Sean Cole has served as the lead pastor at Emmanuel Baptist Church (https://www.ebc-online.org) in Sterling, Colorado, for over 20 years. He holds a Doctor of Ministry in Expository Preaching from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (www.sbts.edu) and a Master of Divinity from Gateway Seminary. He also serves as an adjunct instructor of Old and New Testament, Systematic Theology, and Biblical Interpretation at Colorado Christian University (www.ccu.edu). He hosts a podcast called “Understanding Christianity.”
He is the author of two books: Your Identity in the Trinity: Discovering God's Grace in the Gospel and 40 Days in Philippians: Finding Joy in Jesus. His wife is Dawn, and they have two boys, Aidan and Zachary.
